They made the guns customizable and shit in 3 so they changed the main enemies to genero zombies and occasional cover sections vs humans with guns
they wanted the cod audience and the game turned out shit
According to their forums you can sort the voice chat stuff when setting up the lobby but i prefer it this way

Yeah this game was noted for being pretty dog shit, they just lost all drive to have a fun series. I think it was at least in part because of EA putting more influence on the devs to add in more mainstream shit.
