The first is ok, the second is definitely wrong. Japanese doesn't have plurals so a lot of Japanese people struggle with getting singular/plural right even when it's regular.

It's kind of cope. Entities that value their international customers take shipping into account at the design stage, they'll work with a shipping country and target the box size etc. to get reasonable rates. When you see these big prices that's a sign they made it for the Japanese market and then threw it up on the international store as an afterthought.
